Once one of my favorite people in the world, Alexa Guedez, told me something that changed my whole perspective on beauty and arts. She told me that butterflies can’t see their own wings, therefore they don’t know how beautiful and colorful they are. This got me thinking… we are just like butterflies, we don’t see our own beauty, but we should. We have been placed upon this earth to experience life and the universe as a human form. The mere fact of existence is beautiful and magical but is also confusing. It makes me question a bunch of things. Are flowers also aware of their beauty? Do they know that they are someone’s favorite one? What music do clouds listen to? Who do the trees hug? What do birds dream about? Does the sea cry when it feels sad?
